Property Resolutions for 2018

No matter if we’re talking about your residence or commercial property you own, you probably take a lot of pride in your property – and you absolutely should!

So with that in mind, here are some property resolutions for 2018:

Mind your curb appeal. Although the interior of your home is very important, the exterior should also make a good impression. If you want your property to look its best at all times, keep in mind that the first thing people see is the driveway, front door, and front yard. (We might not be much help with your doorway or yard, but don’t forget to contact us if your driveway or lot needs some TLC!)

Inspect your windows. Check to see if all your windows are sealed properly with no gaps and if there are gaps, seal them. This will save you save you in the future from moisture damage and heat lost.

Repaint (if needed). A coat of paint on both on the interior and exterior is one of the easiest way to give your property a fresh, well-maintained appearance for little investment. A home’s exterior generally needs to be repainted less often than the interior, perhaps every ten years or so. If it’s been than long, you should think about making a resolution to repaint in 2018.

Inspect your roof. Replacing the roof can be a big investment, but one that is important to maintain value and prevent issues like leaks. To best maintain your roof, make a resolution to inspect it on a regular basis for things like loose shingles or clogged gutters (which can quickly lead to damage!).

Let the professionals do it for you. Sure, there’s satisfaction from handling certain property maintenance tasks on your own, but you should absolutely reach out for professional help when you need it. This is especially true for certain electrical and plumbing jobs and asphalt paving work.
